Follow-up question from J.
Dear Doctor,
Thanks for ur reply and valuable advice. I had consulted another neurophysician who advised only one type of medicine instead of three. He advised to stop Phenobarbitone and Epival and increased the dose of Tegral to one tablet in the morning and one at night for one week and then 3 tablets of Tegral daily.
We have observed that after starting the dose of Epival, her weight has increased thats why the doctor avoided to prescribe Epival.
He also recommended EEG.
I am worried that if I stop Epival , my daughter may have an attack of epilepsy.
I am waiting for your valuable advice as usual , before stopping Epival.
Hope you will help me to clean my doubts.

To me, this sounds like a good plan. I would agree with your neurologist. Of course, you should follow his orders regardless of what I say. But I do support the decision. If your daughter gets seizures after dropping Epival, the medication will of course have to be re-evaluated. Good luck,
Dr. Joshua
