I have been experiencing a horrible pain on my lower back at my waist line, it causes me to feel cramps on my stomach, and I’m also feeling nausea. The pain in my lower back waistline line reminds me of the cramps I felt when giving birth. I also have no appetite when this occurs. The only way I feel better is if I lay down on the bed and take a nap.
Can you think what can be causing this excruiating pain?? Also it seems that it occurs usually at the same time, midday to afternoon.
Dr. Joshua’s Answer:
Based on the available information, the following possible causes come to mind: Urinary stones, gynecological causes such as ovarian cyst rupture, gastroenteric (stomach, abdominal organs, intestines) causes, back related problems. You say it’s at its worst in the early afternoon. Does it occur right after lunch? If so, it is more likely to be gastroenteric. On the other hand, your description does not immediately suggest anything specific, so if these pain episodes continue, you should visit the doctor. I can’t say much without the benefit of a thorough clinical examination and history.
